Nubian Narrative is a small, independent publishing house dedicated to amplifying Nubian voices at home and across the diaspora. We exist to reclaim our history, stories, and lived experiences—told by us, in our own words.

For generations, Nubia has been interpreted through the lenses of explorers, historians, and outsiders who spoke about us, rather than with us. In the Western world, the word “Nubian” was flattened into a synonym for “Black,” contributing to the erasure of a distinct people, culture, and civilization with deep roots and enduring legacy.

Nubian Narrative creates space for remembrance, resistance, and re-storying—publishing work that honors Nubia as a living continuum, not a footnote. Through literature, scholarship, and creative expression, we return authorship to where it belongs.
